Welcome to The Kofler Files.
I’m J. W. Kofler, and I’m writing The War Within—a psychological espionage series told through the eyes of the daughter of covert American operatives living undercover in the field.
Conditioned from childhood to accept manipulation, secrecy, and deception as normal, she eventually begins to question the world that shaped her—and sets out to escape it.
This publication is where I document my journey of bringing that story to life.
And I’m starting from the beginning.
I launched The Kofler Files on August 21, 2026. I’m new to Substack, new to this particular kind of public writing journey, and building this publication from the ground up. If you’re here now, you’re here early.
