The Story Behind the Initiative

I had a fascinating, experience-rich childhood and teenage life. I got to see and do things that gave me a rich reserve of stories—and I’m deeply grateful for that. But traditional educational opportunities were unavailable to me most of the time.

The only classroom I could carry with me was in the form of a few books.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to appreciate just how profoundly books, education, hands-on experiences, and exposure to different ideas can shape a young person’s trajectory. I want to give my children every bit of that foundation.

I want them to grow into curious, capable people who contribute meaningfully to their communities—to have the space to pursue the kind of purpose and leadership I once aspired to myself.

That’s what 📚Buy My Kids a Book is all about.
